The ominous shape of this turn of the century farmhouse against the turbulent dusk sky, maintains a silent solitude that is so characteristic of the St Lawrence Valley at this time of year.  Set in midwinter and cloaked in shades of deep muted magentas and purples, the house posses an air of abandon yet the upstairs light and footprints across the snow, contradict this.  Painted along a back road  in Ontario Canada.

The original is painted in watercolor on cold press paper.
