Last light, first light. The end of a Monhegan day as seen from the top of hill near the lighthouse on this small island off the coast of Maine.  For a less energetic view some gather on the rocks behind the school house.

This was a night late in August, the season was winding down, the hazy soft light of a setting sun whispered a warm rosy glow into the humid evening air that seemed to blend water with sky.
